United remain focused
Newcastle will not allow their off-the-field problems to distract them from their promotion drive.
Midfielder Danny Guthrie has revealed the players set themselves the task of securing an immediate return to the Premier League when they returned to pre-season training despite the uncertainty behind the scenes.
The Magpies head into Sunday's tough trip to Cardiff sitting at the top of the Championship and determined to still be there after the weekend.
Guthrie said: "On day one, we got together and decided we would have a real good go at this, and the togetherness and camaraderie around the group has been there for everyone to see on the pitch.
"We want to win the league.
"Every game seems to be difficult in this league. But you have to compete and show a lot of togetherness, which we are doing."
