TRANSFER LATEST: Best signs permanent deal with Newcastle
NEWCASTLE have completed the deadline-day capture of striker Leon Best from Coventry City for an undisclosed fee that is understood to be around £500,000.[LNB] The Republic of Ireland international has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Magpies, and will be available for Friday's home game with Cardiff.[LNB] Best has scored nine goals in 15 Championship appearances for Coventry this season, and was part of the Sky Blues side that lost to Newcastle in December.[LNB] Best's arrival will complete the Magpies' January transfer business.[LNB] ** READ MORE TRANSFER NEWS IN TOMORROW'S NORTHERN ECHO **[LNB]
