TRANSFER DEADLINE UPDATE - Peter's back with Magpies
PETER LOVENKRANDS has rejoined Newcastle United after signing a three-year deal at St James' Park.
The Danish forward, who has been a free agent since leaving the Magpies in May, had interested a number of clubs, including Birmingham City.
But after a day of lengthy negotiations on Tyneside, Lovenkrands became Newcastle's only recruit on deadline day.
The 29-year-old had been expected to be followed by a couple more new faces, although caretaker manager Chris Hughton will still hope to do that later next week when he can make emergency loan signings.
