Top 10 Premier League Volleys: 9 - Cheik Tiote

9) Cheik Tiote VS Arsenal (Newcastle United 4-4 Arsenal, February 11th 2011)

Arsenal trailed Manchester United by just 5 points at what was a pivotal stage of the 2010-2011 Premier league season. Arsenal were absolutely cruising at half time. They went in 4-0 up and looking to close the gap on the leaders as Manchester United faced Wolves later that same evening.

What then transpired was (excuse the cliché), the ultimate game of two halves. Abou Diaby was sent off early in the second off, which sparked the most unlikely of comebacks. Two Joey Barton penalties and a third from Leon Best got Newcastle back in with a shout. Then in the dying minutes Newcastle were awarded a free kick which was lifted in to the box, the cross only half cleared and the ball fell to Cheik Tiote who struck a sweet first time volley with his weaker left foot in to the bottom corner to complete one of the Premier Leagues greatest ever comebacks.
