Yohan Cabaye had an outstanding first season at The Sports Direct Arena, with 4 goals and 10 assists in his debut season, he was a crucial part in Alan Pardrew's plans as Newcastle managed to finish 5th in The Barclays Premier League.

Arriving for a nominal fee believed to be just 4million pound, Cabaye added a much needed flair to the Newcastle midfield. His ability to keep the ball, along with his vision to spot his team mates - saw him become the star man regarding Newcastle's attacks. Along with a few stunning free kicks, most notably against Manchester United, it is fair to say Cabaye has an abundance of talent.

Alot was made of Cabaye's decision to leave Lille. After recently winning the Ligue 1 crown and domestic cup. Sacrificing a Champions League spot to go to Newcastle seemed extraordinary.

However, Newcastle had a season to remember and finished one spot of a Champions League spot.

Yohan scored his first international goal at EURO 2012 for France, although France were eliminated by eventual Champions, Spain at the quater-final stage.

Yohan's first season has seen him linked with clubs such as Barcelona and Manchester United, with some papers even claiming that he has the ability to become the, 'next Paul Scholes'.
