Top 10: Greatest Premier League comebacks - 1 - Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal

22 March 2012 09:45
Newcastle United provided the greatest comeback in Premier League history when they welcomed Arsenal to St. James' Park in February 2011.

Arsenal were ahead after just 44 seconds when Theo Walcott raced through on goal.

The Gunners were soon 3 goals up after Johan Djourou and Robin van Persie both scored within 10 minutes.

Van Persie made it 4-0 before half-time, with Arsenal seemingly having the game wrapped up.

Things took a turn for the worst after the break when Abou Diaby saw red after pushing Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan.

Two penalties from Barton and a Leon Best goal gave the Magpies a chance but with just 7 minutes left on the clock time was running out.

Ivorian midfielder Cheick Tiote stepped up to slam the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box with 3 minutes left.
