Top 10 Goals Of September 2012: 1 - Demba Ba

Demba Ba had a terrific debut season for Newcastle last season. Finishing with 16 goals in the league.

However – he had been moved out to the left wing to accommodate Pappis Cisse leading the line. Ba has struggled on the left in a three man attack – and is seeming to score goals for fun when deployed centrally by Alan Pardew.

By the end of September – Ba was the leading goal scorer of the Barclays Premier League with six goals. Ahead of the likes of Robin van Persie, Steven Fletcher and Luis Saurez. My personal favourite goal of his is this volley against struggling side Reading. Midfield start Cheik Tiote sent over a 40 yard ball over the Reading backline – for Demba Ba to watch the ball go over his head and volley past a despairing McCarthy to level the game 2-2.

Ba is believed to be 'unhappy' at Newcastle – but with a man scoring goals like this in The Barclays Premier League, Newcastle would be foolish to let him leave.
