Toon wait on Keegan outcome

Newcastle and former manager Kevin Keegan are waiting to discover the outcome of their compensation wrangle. The dispute relates to the circumstances of Keegan's departure from St James' Park in 2008, which prompted the ex-England boss to a claim of constructive dismissal. Keegan left Newcastle after only eight months of his second spell in charge after reports of a row with club owner Mike Ashley regarding transfer policy. Rumours vary regarding the sum of money Keegan is demanding, but there have been suggestions the figure could cause serious financial damage to Newcastle. A Premier League independent arbitration panel hearing drew to a close on Friday, but judgement has been reserved and it could be fortnight before an outcome is learnt. In a statement from the League Managers Association, who have been representing Keegan, chief executive Richard Bevan said: "Having heard the evidence from both sides, the panel has reserved judgement, and there will be no further comment on the process until they have published their findings."
