Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has revealed he tried to take Newcastle striker ...

... Loic Remy to the Liberty Stadium last summer.

The in-form Frenchman has scored eight goals in his last nine appearances for the Magpies.

Michael Laudrup: "He's really a player. I like him a lot.

"He was one of the players I was interested in last summer. There's no doubt about that.

"He is a player that I like. He has everything. He has speed, individual quality and goals.

"There are two key Newcastle players to stop. Remy and the delivery to him which comes from Cabaye. They are the main threats."
