Toon Star Misses Mackem Trip
Hatem Ben Arfa will miss the opening two games of the season against Arsenal and the Mackems. Having seen a specialist in Paris, Ben Arfa has discovered he is out of contention for the Premier League curtain-raiser with Arsenal and the Wear-Tyne derby against Sunderland the weekend after. Ben Arfa is thought to have suffered ligament damage on the same leg which was broken in two places at Manchester City last October, when his season was ended by Nigel de Jong’s horror tackle.
