Toon Stability? It's Not Down To The Manager

Bob Moncur says "Alan Pardew is striving to provide stability". Didn't Chris Hughton and Kevin Keegan try that too? Bob Moncur (talking to The Chronicle): "It’s been pretty obvious that in recent weeks that the one thing that Alan Pardew is striving to provide for Newcastle United is the same thing the Magpies have been striving for since Sir Bobby Robson was sacked seven years ago. "Stability. "I would very much doubt you would find one Newcastle fan that would have picked Pardew when Chris Hughton left St James’ Park back in December. "And there’s no doubt the former West Ham and Charlton boss has much work ahead of him in order to fully win over the supporters. "But from my view, he’s giving it everything he’s got and trying to get to the root of the problems that have haunted the club for years. "It’s not an easy task and there will be little slips and slides along the way, just like there were when Sir Bobby came to United in 1999, but you do get there in the end if you are allowed to. "We witnessed one of those little slips that I mentioned in our last Premier League match against Everton, when I just think that we ran out of fuel in order to see the game out, not to mention with key players missing. "It was a setback in my eyes and not one I enjoyed, but you are going to get games like that against experienced top-flight opponents such as Everton." Personally I think Kevin Keegan and Chris Hughton ALSO tried for "stability" but how can you achieve that with Mike Ashley pulling the strings? It's NOT the manager that createss stability ... it's the owner. We cannot change anything, Pardew is our manager (and Mike Ashley couldn't give a shit what the Toon fans think anyway) ... but if YOU did have say ... would you: 1) Have been happy for Keegan to stay 2) Kept Chris Hughton 3) Happy with Alan Pardew 4) Or gone for someone else.
