Toon Set To Release Winger - Best Could Be Next!

Fabrice Pancrate will be the first Newcastle player out of the door this summer. It has been decided he will not have his contract renewed. And, as we predicted last week, Fitz Hall’s loan move from Queen’s Park Rangers is very unlikely to turn into a permanent deal as manager Chris Hughtonbegins to trim the squad. Pancrate, signed as a free agent back in November, but has made just eight starts – five in the league – and struggled to even make the bench towards the end of the season. Is Hall Premiership quality? He is a half-decent player, but Hughton wants to look at other options. It remains to be seen whether Leon Best has done enough to keep his place in the squad. Judging by our message board (NU Mad) he has failed to impress, and many fans would be happy to see him sold to raise funds. Best has not scored in 13 appearances since signing from Coventry in January. The Republic of Ireland international cost £1.5m at the start of the year, but Newcastle will accept less than that if a Championship club is willing to take the striker off their hands before the start of next season.
