Sylvain Marveaux shone for the Magpies' second string last night in a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers in front of Alan Pardew in Leyland.

United took the lead through Sammy Ameobi in the 25th minute when he latched on to a Dan Gosling pass before firing past Rob Lainton.

That advantage was doubled through French ace Marveaux (pictured right) when he was played in by Peter Lovenkrands down the right before he dinked the ball past the keeper on 58 minutes.

Marveaux added his second 10 minutes later after Shane Ferguson's fine run down the left.

The Northern Ireland youngster whipped the ball in and Marveaux hooked home his second at the back post with his right foot.
