Three Toon fans could be jailed after Newcastle United's relegation from the Premier League sparked mayhem in a crowded pub. The incident happened in the Jolly Miller in Low Fell, Gateshead, in May last year. Newcastle lost 1-0 to Aston Villa ans a mini riot erupted. Pint glasses were thrown at walls forcing drinkers to duck for cover, tables and chairs were smashed and windows shattered as the trouble raged. The final repair bill was estimated at the time to be around £6,000. Now three of those arrested after the disorder on May 24 last year could be on their way to prison after admitting a charge of affray. Gary Browne, 23, Gary Connelly, 32, and Lee McDonald, 22, entered their pleas as their jury trial at Newcastle Crown Court was listed to start. Browne, of Robson Street, Low Fell, Gateshead, Connelly, of Ulverston Gardens, and McDonald, of Lavender Row, both in Beacon Lough, will be sentenced on July 25.
