Sky Sports News understands Newcastle have received a bid from an unnamed Premier League club for Damien Duff. The bid is believed to be £4million for the Republic of Ireland international and Newcastle are now considering the offer. Newcastle are resigned to losing some of their top stars following their relegation to the Championship and the club are looking to offload some of their high earners in a bid to trim the wage bill. Duff has previously admitted he would be happy to stay at St James' Park, but a return to the Premier League is sure to appeal to the winger Duff, who scored in last weekend's draw with West Brom, had been linked with a move to Bolton earlier this summer, but it remains unsure if the bid has come from Gary Megson's side.
