Toon Promotion 'A Monumental Effort'
Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias says it has been "a monumental effort" getting Newcastle back in the Premiership. Derek Llambias: "It really has been a monumental effort from all concerned here at Newcastle United this season, from Chris Hughton and his players and all of our staff at the training ground and here at St James' Park. "I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at this football club for everything you have done this season. "I'm well aware of how difficult things were this time last year and the potential struggles we faced going into this season, but all of your efforts have helped contribute to what has turned out to be a successful campaign. "Going back up to the Premier League was always our aim this season and we are delighted that this great club is now back where it belongs in the top flight of English football. "We now have the opportunity to plan for life back in the Premier League and we are under no illusions about the challenges that lie ahead. "But today is all about what we have achieved this season, so I genuinely hope that everyone inside St James' Park enjoys this afternoon and the chance to celebrate our Championship success - you have earned it."
