Alan Shearer will wear the Newcastle Utd No 9 one more time. Shearer will again pull on a Newcastle shirt for a charity game against a Liverpool XI at Kingston Park on October 9. And asked about the club’s long-running search for a successor to Andy Carroll, BBC Match of the Day pundit Shearer said: “It’s a fantastic shirt. “I had 10 great years wearing it, and I’d love someone to have come in and taken it and scored some goals, but it wasn’t to be for whatever reason.”
