Toon Midfielder Happy To Sign For St Mirren

Defender Paul Dummett looks set to be offered a new contract by Newcastle United, but the future isn't looking so good for Geordie pal Conor Newton.

While on loan at St Mirren, the pair both played a key role in last Sunday's League Cup Final success.

Dummett (pictured right) provided the cross for Steven Thompson's goal before Newton bagged what turned out to be the winner.

Apart from a few weeks at the start of the season and in January, Dummett has spent the entire season on loan at Saints.

In between his two spells in Paisley he made his Newcastle debut.

Newton arrived at Saints in January and has been impressive, and has hinted during the week he'd be open to signing for the Buddies permanently if Newcastle let him go.
