The Ivory Coast international completed 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over Wigan on Saturday, but he picked up a knock during the match and has already been ruled out of the side's Carling Cup tie at Blackburn on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old has been an ever-present in the league so far this campaign, forming a useful midfield partnership with summer signing Yohan Cabaye.
Shola Ameobi has been ruled out for six weeks, and today Steven Taylor said he could miss the Blackburn fixture because of his broken nose.
