The Chronicle reports today that Newcastle United are planning for the event that striker Demba Ba leaves this summer by drawing up a list of possible replacements.

The newspaper has reported: "The club's chief scout Graham Carr has been working hard to try and identify another bargain for the club after bringing the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa to the attention of manager Alan Pardew.

"Carr has previously looked to France to find the best young talent but he has lately been turning his attention to Holland where he has been watching Heerenveen striker Bas Dost (pictured right)."

The 22-year-old is the top scorer in Holland with 25 league goals, and another name that has been mentioned is FC Twente striker Luuk De Jong, who has scored 22 league goals this season.

"Any transfer would be dependent on the sale of Ba who has been linked with a move ever since it was revealed that he has a £7million release clause in his contract."

Today Ba insisted: "I am happy at Newcastle. I don't want to go anywhere."
