Toon Fans Stuck In France

07 December 2012 11:29
Hundred of Newcastle United fans are stranded in France today after severe weather caused flights to be cancelled following last night's Europa League game against Bordeaux.

Most of the 1,200 fans travelled to Bordeaux airport to fly to Amsterdam and then on to Newcastle.

But many have been diverted to Paris where torrential weather and fog has caused flights to be cancelled and supporters can’t get home.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning this morning for regions including London and the South-East, the East and West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber and the east of England. However by mid-morning the fog lifted.

Throughout Britain airports are experiencing disruption with cancelled flights from Amsterdam, Paris and Brussels.

At Newcastle Airport the KLM flight KL963 from Amsterdam, due in at 4.40pm today, has been cancelled, while the 10.30am Brussels Airlines flight SN2187 from Brussels has also been cancelled.
