Toon Eye Ivory Coast International?

The Sunday Sun, the newspaper that has failed to get any transfer speculation right since about 1924, claim that " highly-rated Ivory Coast ace Gervinho is going to replace Andy Carroll." But ... we have to report transfer speculation ... even if it's a load of bollox (as the Sunday Sun is!). SUNDAY SUN: United, bruised by accusations that they lack ambition for selling Carroll to Liverpool, are desperate to land Gervinho as a statement of their intent. The pacey Lille forward – rated at around £8million by the Ligue One side – is one of France’s top prospects after a first season that saw him hit 13 goals in 32 games. The 23-year-old, who can also play out wide, has attracted interest from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Napoli, but Newcastle believe they have a big chance of landing him in the summer, when he has just one year of his current contract left.
