Toon Didn't Make Use Of Wide Men

Newcastle failed to beat Blackpool on Saturday because Chris Hughton instructed his men to play through the middle because of the 5-strong line across the park. Or so says Bob Moncur, Newcastle's Fairs Cup winning skipper. Moncur: "I don’t see any real need for doom and gloom, but I have to say I was left fuming at times on Saturday by the lack of service for Andy Carroll. "Once again, the post-game debate was about the lack of final product – especially out wide. "Fair play to Blackpool, they came here and attacked so 10 out of 10 to Ian Holloway for that. "But it was made easier for them because of the distribution and the way Newcastle went about their business. "For me, there were too many occasions when Newcastle attempted to play it through the middle."
