Toon Defender To Sign For St Mirren In Summer?

Newcastle defender Paul Dummett will not be returning for a second loan stint with St Mirren.

The 21-year-old left-back spent the first half of the season on loan with the Buddies, making 19 appearances for the Paisley outfit, before returning to St James Park at the turn of the year.

Alan Pardew handed him his first-team debut in their FA Cup third round defeat to Brighton.

However, he was expected to rejoin St Mirren before the end of the January transfer window after Newcastle secured the signing of French left-back Massadio Haidara.

But those plans have now fallen through.

However, he is out of contract at Newcastle in the summer, and St Mirren will be waiting in the wings to sign him then.
