Toon Defender Tears Up Contract!

Ben Tozer has agreed a deal to quit St James' Park ... showing why Mike Ashley's "blue print for success" has flaws. Signing kids, and bringing them through the ranks has one major problem ... ... they all want first team experience. And that doesn't often happen in the Premiership. Fraser Forster is another who is thinking about his Newcastle future, having had a taste of first team success at Norwich and Celtic on loan. The Magpies beat a host of clubs to land Tozer from Swindon in January 2008 with the central defender regarded as one of the best youngsters in the country. But the 21-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the first-team, making just two first-team appearances. Tozer is now ready to move on in search of regular first-team football and he has agreed to cancel his contract by mutal consent to allow him to leave on a free transfer. Tozer spent the majority of last season on loan at Northampton and the Cobblers are thought to be leading the chase to snap up the defender on a free transfer. .
