Toon £5m Bid Knocked Back!
According to the Daily Mirror: "Newcastle have failed in a £5million bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Mevlut Erdinc." The newspaper claims the 23-year-old is a "potential replacement for Andy Carroll, who is wanted by Birmingham and Stoke City". The Turkey star finished last season with 15 Ligue 1 goals in 30 games. He has three years left on his contract and joined PSG only last summer in a £7.5m move from Sochaux.
