Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was spotted performing a sex act on himself at a Sunderland beach.
At about 5pm on Saturday officers were called to Seaburn beach after a man had been seen performing the sex act at Seaburn beach.
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the beach, particularly around 4pm to 4.45pm that day, are asked to contact them on 101 ext 69191.
The 51-year-old has been bailed pending further enquiries.
