The Race Is On For Those Toon Medals!
OK, it's early to jump the gun, but we will never have a better chance of a trophy than where we sit right now. West Brom are after us ... but bugger them ... we are going to be CHAMPIONS! And the fight is on for WHO will get a medal. Already 17 Toon players have reached the quota of games needed to qualify for a medal, with others on the borderline. Mike Williamson and Leon Best still need a couple of games, with Joey Barton and Wayne Routledge still four appearances away. The official line we got from an official at St James' Park: "The club get 21 medals... to qualify you should have played at least ten games. "However if the club have only, say 18 players who have done so, then it is up to them to allocate the remaining medals."
