Andy Carroll had a 'purely belter' of a chance to rock Old Trafford last night ... but blew it! Andy Carroll: “Overall, I thought the team did well. “This was always going to be the toughest game of the season. I had my chance, and I should have put it away, and we had a few other chances as well, and we could have been ahead. “I should have scored the first one when Joey put the ball in from a corner. “It was a great ball and, on another day, I would have put that in. “Obviously we knew it was going to be difficult, and it was. “I thought for the first 35 minutes we did well. “We kept the ball well, and didn’t let them do what they wanted to do. “Then the first goal went in, and they took control. “But we still worked hard. "Everyone’s disappointed with the result, but all the lads played well. “We knew it was going to be tough, and it was, but there were positives to take from it. “Our tactics were to keep Scholes off the ball, and I thought we did that really well. But as soon as he dropped off, and we let him have the ball, he just ran the game. “It was all about the tactics.
