The Insider: Barry Ferguson next to leave Birmingham

[LNB]Ferguson has done well at Birmingham and would fit in well at another Premier League club. [LNB]He has seen several of his team-mates move on already and would like to move closer to Scotland to make it easier on travelling to meet up with family. [LNB]Sunderland have already signed Craig Gardner and Seb Larsson and are unlikely to bring in Ferguson particularly following the addition of David Vaughan from Blackpool too.[LNB] Blackpool have shown interest in Ferguson and would like to bring him to Bloomfield Road but Ferguson would prefer a move back to the Premier League. [LNB]Bolton may yet come into negotiations but the price would have to be right particularly taking Ferguson's age into account. [LNB]Ferguson has one year left on his contract so would be hoping for a small transfer fee to help him get a move. [LNB]Former England international Dyer was available on a free transfer and manager Neil Warnock has moved to take a gamble on the 32-year-old. [LNB]After an injury ravaged four years at West Ham, in which he made just 30 league appearances, Dyer was desperate to get the chance to play again. [LNB]He had a spell at Ipswich on loan last season but again only played four games as Avram Grant recalled him to Upton Park. [LNB]He cost West Ham ?6million back in 2007, and is taking a huge pay-cut to stay in London. [LNB]He has signed a short-term performance-related deal with the Premier League new boys and could prove a useful acquisition if he can stay fit. [LNB]QPR need bodies with Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell also on their radar while Danny Webber is continuing his trial at the club in the hope of earning a deal. [LNB]Dyer was a target for other clubs but they wanted to wait until later in the window before making any decision.[LNB] NICKLAS BENDTNERArsenal to HamburgTHE INSIDER says: 1/5[LNB]JASON SCOTLANDIpswich to Swansea THE INSIDER says: 2/5[LNB] [LNB]Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed their interest in signing Bendtner but admits at the same time it looks unlikely.[LNB] Bendtner's father has been trying to encourage Borussia Dortmund to follow up their initial interest but that has stalled as has interest from Sporting Lisbon. [LNB]Benfica and Fulham remain possible options while he looks too dear at ?10m for Newcastle.[LNB]Bendtner was left off Arsenal's tour of Asia in order for him to hold talks over his future. And Arnesen believes the Dane could even be used in an attacking midfield role. [LNB]He said: 'We need more creativity. A midfielder with quality would be good for us. Bendtner would be a real dream, he is a very interesting player. He can also play as an attacking midfielder behind the attacker. [LNB]'But it would almost amount to a small miracle for us to get him. There are two other clubs who have made an offer Nicklas and we are unfortunately not in that position.'[LNB]The 32-year-old striker is hoping to discuss a return to Swansea where he enjoyed such success in the lower leagues. [LNB]Former manager Roberto Martinez gambled and took him to Wigan but he failed to continue his goalscoring form in the top flight. [LNB]Brendan Rodgers is considering bringing him back mindful that his time at Wigan could now be put to better use with Premier League experience important to his squad. [LNB]Scotland was a big hero to the Swans faithful during a stint at the Liberty Stadium between 2007 and 2009 that brought him 45 goals in 90 games. [LNB]Initial talks have begun with Ipswich and the deal could happen. Ipswich are looking to bring in their own striker with Marvin Sordell, Billy Sharp and Martyn Waghorn among names mentioned and want Doncaster James Coppinger to provide the crosses.
