Taylor Worried About Toon No-Show

Steven Taylor today accepted that Newcastle United's defeat at Leeds United was "not good enough". Steven Taylor: “We have said it from the start. “We want to get a winning mentality, we did well in America performance wise but that wasn’t to be at Leeds. “It wasn’t good enough but we have to be ready for the new season. “The lads were devastated in the changing room. “It is as dead as it has been for a long time. You don’t want to be getting beat like that.” "We can turn this into a positive – like we did at Leyton Orient two years ago. “We got hammered then. “We didn’t get hammered at Leeds but the reaction after Orient was positive and that’s what we will look for now. “It is a chance to kickstart our season. We have two hard weeks now until Arsenal and there is some hard training to be done. “We had the chances – we just didn’t take them. That is a positive at least. “There were some great deliveries into the box we just didn’t get any luck. “Fitness is massive and we want to be taking the game to Arsenal. “A few years ago we would try to pass the ball about against teams like that, now we will try to take the game to them. “We have a lot to offer still this year.”
