Taylor wait goes on

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is unlikely to be fit again until the end of next month. Manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that the 24-year-old, who was last month transfer-listed after failing to sign a new contract, is still five weeks away from returning from a shoulder injury suffered during pre-season. However, Hughton insisted the former England Under-21 international, who was included in the squad submitted by the Magpies last week, still has a future on Tyneside despite continuing speculation that he could leave. Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "As far as Steven is concerned, we are still looking at about five weeks or so. We will continue to assess his situation, like we would with any injury. "He still has a part to play for Newcastle." Hughton could be boosted for this weekend's Barclays Premier League cash with Blackpool by having Sol Campbell at his disposal for the first time. The 35-year-old is expected to make a second appearance for the reserves against Liverpool tomorrow night to put himself into contention.
