Taylor: 'Toon Wingers Didn't Have Room To Attack'

Steven Taylor says the pitch at Molineux is too tight and cramps the wingers, giving Wolves an advantage.

Taylor’s foul on O’Hara should have been a penalty ... and the Toon defender admits Wolves were very unlucky.

Steven Taylor: ”It could have been a penalty but things went for us and we’ll take that.

“It was a perfectly fine goal for them (when Wolves striker Kevin Doyle scored but the flag went up)  but we can do nothing about that.

“I think a lot of people would have accepted a draw before the game.

“But for myself, and having spoken to the rest of the lads we needed the win.

“We have a difficult month coming up in November.

“So for us to come here and win is great.

“Newcastle have been here many times without winning and we knew it would be difficult again.

“I don’t think many will go to Wolves and win there this season.

“It’s a narrow pitch and the wide men don't have much room to run at. It’s a bit like Queens Park Rangers so it was great for us to take the win this time.

“When you are 2-0 up it means they have to come at us and try to score goals. We just had to keep it professional.”
