Taylor keen to return

Newcastle defender Steve Taylor is desperate to return to action after missing out on his chance of international glory. The 23-year-old would have led England into their European Under-21 Championships campaign this summer had it not been for an Achilles injury. But he is now back in training with his club and despite speculation over his future at St James' Park, is looking forward to returning to action in the friendly against Shamrock Rovers in Dublin on Saturday. Taylor said: "It feels fine now. I have a lot of people to thank for a successful return, and I just want to repay them." Caretaker boss Chris Hughton added: "Steven has been fine. He has trained with no problems and has had the benefit of a rest over the summer."
