Taylor fears for troubled Toon as he urges Newcastle to appoint Shearer

Steven Taylor has failed to commit himself to Newcastle United and admitted he could be forced out before the Championship season starts. And as the club prepares for a players' revolt this week, the former England Under-21 defender Taylor has pleaded with current owner Mike Ashley to appoint Alan Shearer as manager, even before the £100 million sale saga is concluded. Several players are preparing to demand a move away from Newcastle as Ashley's negotiations with several parties continue and Shearer awaits confirmation he can take over as manager. And Taylor said: 'I want Alan Shearer to come back, absolutely. He's the right man for the job. 'I'm still here, I've got two years left on my contract and that's all I can say. Unless Newcastle sell me, I'm a Newcastle player. 'But this has been the worst summer of my life. I haven't been able to relax and enjoy myself because it hasn't really sunk in yet that Newcastle are in the Championship. It just doesn't seem right. 'I'm sick of seeing our name in the papers for the wrong reasons. The football club is like Big Brother - there's always something going on. 'It never has any stability and it needs it. I'm sure the next manager and the next owners will do that.'
