Sumo Campbell Insists He Has Offers
The fattest player to pull on the Toon shirt since Mickey Quinn ... Sol Campbell ... has confirmed he has Premier League offers on the table as he considers his future. Sol Campbell: "I'll do a pre-season with a London club. "I'd like to join someone by the beginning of July, to join up with the lads wherever I am." "There's been a couple of Premier League clubs in contact with my agent so we'll see. "I love playing football and that's what it's all about. "I'll play another couple of years, a year - it depends on the manager and how you fit in really. "I'm not going to play just for playing's sake - I've got to really enjoy it. "I think a lot of players now are looking after their bodies well. "Maybe 10 years ago, 30-year-olds might be saying 'I've had enough'. "But now, especially with goalkeepers and players who have really looked after themselves - 35-plus, it's not a problem."
