Tottenham have joined the queue of teams keen on Chartlon teenage sensation Jonjo Shelvey. The 17-year-old looked certain to leave The Valley - even before the club's relegation to League One - and big things are expected of the midfielder. Newcastle and Fulham are already thought to have been tracking him, but Tottenham may be a more attactive suitor to the Romford-born players. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has already sent his assistant Kevin Bond to check on Shelvey. Last season, the box-to-box midfielder became Charlton's youngest player when he appeared against Barnsley at Oakwell aged 16 years and 59 days. Shelvey is thought to be the best graduate from the Charlton academy since Scott Parker. He would join fellow England Under-17 international John Bostock at White Hart Lane, who is one month his junior.
