Harry Redknapp hopes the Tottenham Hotspur job will be his last.[LNB]The 62-year-old insists his club are closing the gap on the modern Big Four - despite the 3-0 defeat by Arsenal in the north London derby - and Redknapp wants to retire with his head held high.[LNB]'I came because I felt this was my last chance to manage a big club,' Redknapp told the London Evening Standard.[LNB] Flying high: Robbie Keane has helped Spurs to a promising start to the season[LNB]'There is still a gap between Tottenham and the top four but not as wide. When everyone is fit, we have a chance.[LNB]'Before I leave, I want to produce a team they can be proud of. I would like this to be my last job but you never know in football.'[LNB]Redknapp admits he came very close to taking the Newcastle United job in January 2008, as revealed at the time by Sportsmail, but could not face moving away from his wife Sandra and their Dorset home.[LNB]He also revealed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was trying to lure him to the Lane when Martin Jol was still in charge.[LNB]Dutchman Jol was in the hot seat from the summer of 2004 till being sacked and replaced by Juande Ramos in October 2007.[LNB] Big club: Harry Redknapp was tempted to ditch Portsmouth for Spurs[LNB] [LNB]'Daniel (Levy) wanted me to come three years ago when Martin Jol was here. But Martin was doing OK and I was happy at Portsmouth.'[LNB]However, when Ramos was axed in October last year, Redknapp accepted the call because he feared an uncertain future at Fratton Park, with owner Sacha Gaydamak looking to sell.[LNB]Redknapp has seen Portsmouth change hands from Gaydamak to Sulaiman Al Fahim to Ali Al Faraj in a matter of months and he feels there should be better regulation of club ownership. [LNB]'People come and go, it is crazy. What is going to happen in 20 years? We won't have any English owners. They won't have the money.'[LNB] Redknapp ready to seek family advice in new Spurs midfielder searchRoman relegated to Russia subs bench due to lack of first-team actionSpurs boss Redknapp looks to the future with Atletico starlet Joel RoblesTottenham are top of the league!
