Sol heads out of Newcastle

AFTER making just a handful of appearances since arriving on Tyneside last summer, it is unlikely Sol Campbell will be offered a new contract at Newcastle.[LNB] Campbell joined the Magpies at the beginning of the season as a free agent, having spent the latter stages of the previous campaign at former club Arsenal.[LNB] Things have not quite gone to plan, however, with the 36-year-old making eight appearances for the Tynesiders, starting just four times.[LNB] Campbell's last outing for Newcastle came back in March when he was part of the side that went down 4-0 at Stoke City and Pardew must now decide whether to take up the one-year option that was inserted into the defender's contract last summer.[LNB] Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson have forged a steady partnership at the heart of the Magpies defence, and with Steven Taylor and youngster Tamas Kadar waiting in the wings, Campbell's chances of staying at St James' Park could be restricted.[LNB] Meanwhile, Jose Enrique has admitted he is still undecided on where his future lies.[LNB] Enrique will enter the final 12 months of his Magpies contract in the summer with a new deal yet to be agreed.[LNB] The Spaniard has been a key part of the Newcastle squad this season with his performances catching the eye of several clubs, both in England and abroad.[LNB] Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are all said to be keeping tabs on the defender's situation and although Pardew is keen to tie one of his star men to a new deal, it seems Enrique's head has been turned by the prospect of European football.[LNB] The Magpies hierarchy have approached Enrique to discuss a new contract but the 25-year-old insisted he will wait until the current campaign draws to a close.[LNB] "If I have to continue here, I am happy," Enrique said.[LNB] "If I have to go, I am happy, too. I am happy in England. If I have to go to another league, I'm happy.[LNB] "I know there are some difficult things in the club. I want to play football. It is my life and it helps me a lot. My family is in a good position now and I don't care where I have to go.[LNB] "Next season is my last season here. I concentrate [on] playing my games and wait to the summer, or maybe next summer.[LNB] "We don't speak about the contract yet. I don't speak about it yet, as I am happy. I am very happy here."[LNB] * Newcastle have unveiled the club's new 2011-12 home kit.[LNB] Fans can pre-order their shirts now and providing they order by Sunday, May 15, they will receive next season's kit on the official launch date of Thursday, May 19.[LNB] For a limited period of time, anyone who purchases a printed home shirt from the Official Club Store or the online store will receive a free ticket to a Category C home fixture next season.[LNB] Fans can pre-order their 2011-12 kit, visit nufc.co.uk or call NUFC Direct on 0844 3721892.[LNB]
