Manchester United's clash with Blackpool on Saturday has been called off because of a frozen pitch ... but Newcastle's game at the Hawthorns is still going ahead. In the Championship, Hull v QPR, Nottingham Forest v Bristol City, Portsmouth v Burnley, Sheffield United v Reading and the South Yorkshire derby between Doncaster and Barnsley all fell due to snow on Friday. The weather has hit hard in the lower divisions, with only three League One matches - those at Bristol Rovers, Exeter and Swindon - surviving. The games at Northampton and Oxford remain in League Two. Postponed fixtures: PREMIER LEAGUE: Blackpool v Manchester United CHAMPIONSHIP: Doncaster v Barnsley Hull v QPR Nottingham Forest v Bristol City Portsmouth v Burnley Sheff Utd v Reading LEAGUE ONE: Brentford v Notts County Brighton v Colchester Dagenham & Redbridge v Huddersfield Hartlepool v Southampton Leyton Orient v Carlisle Milton Keynes Dons v Plymouth Rochdale v Charlton Walsall v Oldham Yeovil v Peterborough LEAGUE TWO: Accrington Stanley v Shrewsbury Aldershot v Bradford Bury v Chesterfield Cheltenham v Lincoln City Crewe v Wycombe Gillingham v Rotherham Hereford v Morecambe Port Vale v Stevenage Southend v Macclesfield Torquay v Burton Albion Chris Hughton has paid tribute to the unsung heroes at Newcastle United – the club's ground staff. Head groundsman Mick Curran and his team have been working overtime since the weather turned last week. Hughton: "We've been affected more than most, I'd say, because of the sheer volume of snow that we've had up here. "But in the last couple of days, we've been able to do a bit of outdoor training. "The indoor facility has also been used, but the staff here do a great job of making sure we have an outdoor surface to use too. "The staff have been extra special. They generally work incredibly hard anyway, no matter what the weather, they've been a great help. "They can't do enough to help us, and myself and the lads owe them a big thank you."
