Sir John Remembers That Night At Grimsby
Sir John Hall (who has been told he has cancer) says Monday night took him back to that night at Grimsby when we got promoted. Sir John Hall : “The promotion is great news. I’m delighted for the team, delighted. “I went on Monday and watched them get promotion. It took me back to Grimsby, when we won promotion there. It was a great moment. “Monday night took away some of the hardship I’ve felt since I was told about the cancer. It gave me a lift because I’m just a Newcastle fan at heart. It gave me a huge lift after having a tough time. “I want to be around to see them back in the Premier League now. “At the end of last season I didn’t think the team was good enough, but they’ve confounded me and all of their critics. “I have to say with Chris Hughton as their manager and with some good buys, they could have a very good chance in the Premier League. “They’re a totally different team to last season and it’s great to see.”
