Alan Pardew: “To be fair to Danny, he’s trained really hard.
“I sort of tipped him off that he’s got a good chance of being involved this week, and he’s worked really hard.
“He’s in an unfortunate position in terms of his contract, so he’s very hungry to get a new one, whether it’s here or somewhere else.”
