Simpson makes Newcastle debut against Sheff Wed

DANNY Simpson will make his Newcastle United debut in this evening's Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday. Simpson, who has signed on a three-month loan from Manchester United, replaces the injured Joey Barton in the only change to the side that beat Reading at the weekend. The defender, who has previously played on loan at Sunderland, will start at right-back, with Ryan Taylor pushing into right midfield. Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith will play alongside each other at the heart of midfield, with Saturday's hat-trick hero, Shola Ameobi, partnering Andy Carroll up front. NEWCASTLE (4-4-2): Harper, Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, Enrique, R Taylor, Nolan, Smith, Gutierrez, Carroll, Ameobi. Subs: Krul, Guthrie, Xisco, Geremi, Lua Lua, Kadar, Ranger.
