Shearer's 'Best Mate' Gets The Sack!
Roy Keane says in his biography: "I only wished I'd caught Alan Shearer when I swung for him at St James' Park and missed". Keane got a red card that day as Shearer continually called him "a prick" to his face. Keane often tells the media how he was a boxer in his younger days (not a very good one ... obviously!), and perhaps he may take it up again ... as he is out of a job at Portman Road. Yes, the Tractor Boys will be dancing in the streets today. Ipswich have called a press conference for 11am today to say Keane has been sacked after just 20 months in charge. According to reports in a number of national newspapers, the former Republic of Ireland and Manchester United captain appears to have paid the price for a run of seven defeats in nine npower Championship games which has left the club in 19th place and just three points above the relegation zone.
