Shearer snub: It's just like eBay as Toon and every player are up for sale

Newcastle United have put every player up for sale and confirmed the club could be bought for £100million after embarrassingly soliciting offers via email on their own website. In what smacked of another snub to Alan Shearer by the club's owner Mike Ashley, agents have been instructed to sell any of the first-team squad. Shearer had hoped to keep the likes of Steven Taylor, Habib Beye and Sebastien Bassong and construct a promotion-chasing Championship side around them. But he is still in limbo having seen another day go by without receiving word as to whether he will be offered the manager's job full-time. It is painfully evident Ashley's priority is to slash daily costs, and if that means a delay in appointing Shearer, or any other manager, then he seems willing to accept the flak.
