[LNB]The Newcastle United manager watched the £6 million-rated defender, who was in action for PSV Eindhoven at Den Haag, and is keen to add the 23 year-old to his squad in time for the home game with Fulham on Sunday. [LNB]Taylor, a midfielder by trade, has performed admirably in an unfamiliar left-back role for Newcastle's first two games, ensuring immediate cult status with the only goal at the Stadium of Light. [LNB]But given Pardew's renewed search for a long-term successor to the departed José Enrique, Taylor's days in the team would appear numbered. Newcastle are prepared to meet the Dutch club's asking price and Pardew is also interested in the Lyon defender Aly Cissokho. [LNB]But he was lavish in praise of Taylor, saying: 'In addition to his goal, Ryan did ever so well and he deserves all the plaudits. But it's clear that we're in the market for a left-back.'[LNB]Related Articles
