Newcastle youngster Ryan Donaldson is determined to fight his way into the senior reckoning after being given a taste of life in the first team. The 18-year-old striker, captained the club's reserves to a 3-2 victory over Ashington on Wednesday night after being included in the party for a week-long training camp in Ireland and playing in the 3-0 friendly victory over Shamrock Rovers last Saturday. He told the club's official website: "If I want to get my first-team chance, then that is down to me, only I can make that possible. "I have been away in Ireland with the first team last week and that was a great experience. It makes you realise what is needed and you see the standard the senior players set. "To play against Shamrock Rovers was fantastic. It was only my second game for the first team and I loved it, especially with such a big following of fans. "It leaves you wanting more and I'm determined to give it my best shot. But it's not just me, there's a whole bunch of young lads hoping to get a chance and we know it's down to us."
