Rooney To Leave Man Utd - Cisse Bid Could Happen!

31 May 2012 13:09
We started our round-up today with a rumour that Man Utd were sniffing about Papiss Cisse ... and that could happen because ...

... there is allegedly a £120 million bid for Wayne Rooney by Paris St Germain.

The story claims that PSG's Qatari backers are sick of the difficulty they are having persuading the best players in the world to come to the club, so will make the move as a statement of intent that they will not rest until they are Champions League winners.

Berbatov Sale Key To Cisse Moving To Man Utd?

We read yesterday that Sir Alex Ferguson sees Papiss Cisse the answer to his striking replacement for Dimitar Berbatov.

Just newspaper talk?

I don't know, to be honest.

Obviously Ferguson is in the market for two strikers, but the rumoured offer of £15m for Cisse would be laughed at by Mike Ashley.

£20m ... could see "£" signs in Ashley's eyes.

However, Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauer has ruled out re-signing Berbatov this summer.

Berbatov has been linked with a return to his former club, with whom he spent five seasons before joining Tottenham in 2006, after making it clear he feels he no longer has a future at Old Trafford.

The Bulgarian frontman, who arrived at United from Spurs four years ago, has grown frustrated at the club after falling down Sir Alex Ferguson's pecking order, making just 12 Premier League appearances this season, seven of which came off the bench.

The 31-year-old is expected to move on this summer despite the club taking up an extra year's option on his contract in March which saw his deal extended until June 2013.
