Robson became a legendary figure as a manager with the likes of Ipswich Town, Newcastle United and England, but he firstly enjoyed success as a player. He won 20 caps for England and gave sterling service to both Fulham and West Brom. What are your memories of Robson the player? Stepping into management, Robson made his mark at Ipswich, winning the FA Cup and Uefa Cup, and twice finishing runners-up in the league. Was he Ipswich's greatest-ever manager? Robson took on the England coaching job in 1982 and the closest he came to major success was reaching the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup. Was he unlucky not to win a major tournament during his time in charge? He returned to club football and enjoyed success on the continent with the likes of PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona before returning to England to take charge of Newcastle in 1999.
