Rob Green? I'd Rather Have Sooty In Goal!

According to The Sun (not the most reliable of rags) Newcastle United are preparing a deal to sign West Ham United and England goalkeeper Rob Green! The Sun claims: "Newcastle are to offer the Hammers £3m ... but if it is rejected ... Newcastle have a second offer to tempt West Ham, with a £1.5 million plus out of favour stopped Fraser Forster. "Forster spent last season on loan at Celtic, however is likely not to be No.1 at St James' Park this season, and could be used as a bargaining chip to bring Green to the north east. "Having already lost Kevin Nolan this summer, and with Joey Barton and Jose Enrique's future far from certain, the capture of Green would be a much needed signing for Newcastle." Green is one of the reasons West Ham were relegated last season. A goalkeeper known to produce at least ONE howler a game, and you don't build a good team on a failed juggler. Steve Harper is a better goalkeeper - for sure - and Tim Krul is set to be Holland's number one. WHY WOULD WE TAKE ON GREEN?
